GhostSpeed Team has been founded on 25th April of 2003, and the on first approach the Team must be seen on its early days more as community itself than a team. For a long time GhostSpeed as also been like the F12002/F1 Challenge Portuguese Community, as it was the only known group of organised players playing these games on their F1 side on a regular base. At this time the team also set it’s personal motto which still stands till today and truly represents the spirit of the team: We Pass and You Even See Us.
For a long time the goal was to organise Championships, which most of them have failed for some reasons, being the major one them the lack of a racing server who could back up a proper league. And it was way after the first birthday of the team that a league was taken to it’s end, it was a small one but with the help of new members that just joined at the time it seemed like the Team was on it’s way… latter on 2004 a second successful league was made this time with a server, and for the first time a league with a good amount of drivers was possible, it had some problems but it proved the Team was there to stay. Also as a consequence of this productive period the Team logo was drawn by Pedro Rodrigues, a simple one and the first of others to come.
On the beginning of 2005 the big turnaround for the Team started to take shape as for the first time GhostSpeed formed a line up to compete on a International League as a Team; In the Sim-Challenge F1 League Pedro Rodrigues (dj_PRO) and Bruno Marques (Forgotten) make their debut on this prestigious competition, but some problems on the upcoming months led to a complicated Team management period and as a result of that for some time GhostSpeed was almost inactive; it was a complicated period but as the Team spirit was still there a complete reorganization of the squad was Mid Year from the most older members. From there on GhostSpeed was focused to run as a Team itself and not as a centre of a community or a League organizer. Not only the Sim-Challenge campaign was revitalized with Joao Barbosa (Jonny_b) at the wheel of the GS01 , but other divisions where also created, that being said and as a result of a Team Administration decision a GTR and a rFactor division where then formed.
From October 2005 GhostSpeed is Finishing it’s first F1 Season at Sim-Challenge with already some podiums on it’s pocket; alongside with this a participation on the Portuguese and French GTR leagues were started.
In 2006 the Team continues his participation at the SRP-GTR Championship and the LiveForSpeed Division as been set up. In the begining of January Pedro Rodrigues designs our new Team Logo.
At February the first major title for GhostSpeed, as the team wins the Portuguese GTR Teams Championship, with three wins and 8 podiums in a total of 95 points. Sérgio Junior would place himself at third in drivers standings. The junior team would get one win and two podiums.
Later on June, Sérgio Junior does it again, by winning the Drivers Standings at the, Richard Burns Rally G2|R4 Online Rally Championship . The team came in second, failing the collective title by only one point. But it wouldn’t be only Sérgio to be crowned champion, as Gonçalo Cardoso, won the Drivers Portuguese Live For Speed League . A great month in GhostSpeed History, but it would continue in July, as the Team clinched another league. This time with was on both Drivers and Teams standings. At the Portuguese F3 League , Algaci Tulio Junior, was the drivers champion, and Marco Ribeiro came at third. In the teams table, GhostSpeed won by a large margin to the second placed team.
The year would continue with some leagues starting, such as the new RBR league, and the first edition of the Portuguese F1 League, the SRPF1. Some other titles would be added to the team trophy room. Miguel won the ERG GTR Summer tour and GhostSpeed got the Teams Title. The 2006 latest champion was PRibeiro who won the Wosec GT Legends league on the TC65 class.
2007 would mark another landscape for GhostSpeed, with the creation of brand new website and the GS 2007 logo. At the same time, in the same renovation process, a license was acquired for the Professional Formula-SimRacing League.
The first semester for GhostSpeed, would be important, as for the first time since a while, the team won races at an international levels. At the Sim-Challenge GT2 WC, the won one race and got several podiums, being until the end in contention for a final podium position. The same would be verified at The Formula SimRacing leagues, with GhostSpeed getting several wins, and being in contention for the drivers World Series Ace championship. At the World Championship, the team in the debut year is in a stable position, improving steadily since race one.
At a national level, GhostSpeed Racing Team continues in the success path, getting wins at the GT Legends drivers championship (GT-Portugal), the FRC-F1 2006 teams and drivers championships, and the same thing at the PTCC Clio and Megane cups.
