In a press conference at Porto, Portugal, GhostSpeed Racing Team announced Ferry Koek and Mark Aalberts has its new additions to the lineup for FSR World Trophy. Two dutch and very experienced drivers in FSR that decided to return to the competition at the highest level.
Ferry Koek, FSR World Trophy Driver:
“Didnt drive for a long time in FSR but recently I am more and more happy how things are going in FSR so I thought lets give it a try. I watched in the forum for some interested teams and there it was a question from GhostSpeed looking for a WT driver. The time suit me very well and that was all what was needed to motivate me to write to Pedro. After a few mails there was a deal and heey now I am realy driving a GS car and realy happy to see a lot of old faces in the GS team. I think I know all the guys a little or a lot. So at the moment I have the right feeling about the team. I dont have the right speed to be in the topspots but maybe that will change soon or later. But for me is having fun the most important thing. I did drive before in FSR joined in 2004 if Ican remember corectly. And did an whole season in WC in 2005. Finished on the end of the season on P3. After that with less time to spend a few years in WS but never tested enough to be fast enough to come close to a championchip. But heey never give up they say so here I am again.”
Mark Aalberts, FSR World Trophy Driver:
“I’am honourd to drive for GS, wich for some might come as a suprise because of my history with Roaldo Racing where I left end 2009. After being away for about 6 months the interest in FSR came back after watching the first broadcasts from this year and so started to look for a team to drive for. When I noticed that GS was looking for a driver it wasn’t such a difficult decision to contact the team. Im very happy that they took me onboard, there some great guys in the team and im looking forward to work with them and improving the team results.”
Pedro Rodrigues, Team Owner and Manager:
“I’m very happy to have both of them onboard. Both Ferry and Mark have already a long history and experience in FSR. I’m sure they will help give a good contribution to the team that will allow all of us to improve together. I’m confident it’s a step forward for the team. Welcome guys!”
