At Melbourne, 2nd round of FSR 2010, David Greco achieved a 5th place in the FSR AutoGP World Championship after enduring the whole race while racing with a flu. An huge effort by the italian driver. In the day before though, Karim Wezenberg brought a big smile to the team paddock by bringing the team its first podium of the season in the World Series after a great performance in his GS06.
In the World Championship, David Greco presented himself with a flu in the team pitbox but he never considered to not race. With his big determination, he brought the car to the grid of the Australian race. He got a normal start but later he was forced to take a trip to the sand after sawing an opportunity to take both Marques and Haehnel in the outside. That made him loose some positions, but with his usual fighting spirit he could climb up and get a 5th place in the end despite his health conditions.
Laurent Keersmaekers on the other hand, had to start the race from the pits after carrying a penalty from the previous round in Bahrain. That made his race very hard but he performed well to climb several positions until he made a mistake in the last turn of the circuit with just a few laps to go to the end when he was pushing his car to the limits in a last effort to reach 10th, the final points position.
In the World Series, Karim Wezenberg and Marco Conti took the GhostSpeed cars to the track in Grid 1 while Stephane Rouault was forced to race in Grid 2 after not being able to take part in the Pre-Qualify. Karim got a good start while Marco failed to start his Launch Control that made him have a very slow start making a car hit his rear. He was forced to go to pits after that and fight all race to climb several positions. His engine died on him in the last lap of the race but he still got a 10th position.
Karim on the other side had a great performance all race, climbing to 3rd position. In the last laps he defended superbly from David Martinez that was putting him under pressure. Karim made his best lap of the race, just 2 tenths off the fastest lap of the race, keeping Martinez at a distance until the finish line. Karim achieved this way the first podium for the team. A great performance by him. All the team in the pitbox was clearly happy with his achievement at the end of the race.
Later on the day, Stephane Rouault dominated and won the Grid 2 race which allow him to be in Grid 1 in the next round.
In the World Trophy, the team made its debut with Danny Lubbers. Again, bad luck forced him to miss Pre-Qualify and then race in Grid 2. As Stephane in WS, Danny won the Grid 2 confortably.
The Team is now focused on round 3 of FSR taking place in Malaysia. See you there!
