Good results at GP Historicos

The GP Historicos PTSims league is back, and more than a year latter, GhostSpeed Racing Team is back again on track. The league is running again the F1 1979 mod, but this time the team lines up with a two driver front. Having racing previoulsy at this class, come Ricardo Lopes which will be lining up with reigning F1 champion, Filipe Santos. Both will drive car the Ferrari 312. The first two rounds out of 8, brought good results to the team, with Ricardo getting a win the last round.

 

 

In the first championship race, the team race would be all about consistency. In Watkins Glen, Ricardo started from 5th and Filipe from 8th.  Race would be more problematic for Ricardo that had to fight not only other drivers, but also a damaged car resulting from severeal spins. He would finish right behind Filipe Santos that had a confortable and consistent race. In the end, a solid result with Filipe getting P4 and Ricardo P5.

In the second round, luck and lack of it dictated the team final result. On race start, both driver got the luck on their side, as some of the league favorites had do deal with mechanical issues, and race incidents in the first laps. Everything was going well for win and a P2 for GhostSpeed, but only Ricardo would finish the race. Filipe was racing second untill he got punted of track by another competitor, ending this way his changes of climbing up to the podium. Ricardo on his turn, managed to keep it cool and out of troubles, and bought is Ferrari in first untill the last lap. It is his first win in the championship. Congratulations!
