Last Tuesday, a new has started at Formula Racing Challenge. In substitution of the GP2 league, an Open Wheel Classic league as been started. Using the GPC F179 mod, GhostSpeed will compete in a 10 race league, trough some historic circuits. The league has started last Tuesday at Kyalami ’79. GhostSpeed lined up with three racers, although there are five of them signed up for this league.
At Kyalami, raced Sérgio Júnior and Tiago Guerreiro for GhostSpeed Racing Team, and João Oliveira for GS Racing.
It would be this last one to get the best result, as he would finish on 5th, after having started from 11th, and thought all along the race with Berto Carvalho, who now races for his own team. On the other side, both Tiago Guerreiro and Sérgio Junior would have less luck.
On the first laps, Tiago had to do an extra pit stop, due to car damage, and lost there one lap for the front runners, although he had the race pace to be with them. He would eventually, from there, start a recovery that would take him to 9th overall. Two points are a good reward, taking into account his early race problems.
But even more bad luck, would have Sérgio Junior, that after a bad qualification, where he started from 16th, his race would be even worse, and after six laps, he would be already out of contention.
After the first round, things are still open for GhostSpeed, after two scoring positions. Next round will be on the 19th of June, at Estoril.
