During Qualifying both Rory King and Corey Melton posted great times to start 3rd and 6th on the grid. Unfortunately Mario wasn’t able to break the top 25 and make it to the race. With help from his teammates and some more experience behind the wheel look for Mario to be a consistent competitor in the future. Due to the lack of time to prepare for the second round Aron never got the chance to take part in this weeks racing. However also look forward to Aron performing well in Enna.
The race got off to a good but rocky with Corey moving back from 2nd to 5th after a few nervous moments caused some mistakes on the track. After a handful of laps both GhostSpeed drivers were running nose to tail setting a comfortable race pace. Just before the pit stops Rory and Corey were still running together, matching lap times again and again. Both drivers elected to pit on lap 31. King had a quick and non-eventful stop; the same couldn’t be said for Melton. A slow spin on pit entry and another dismal stop from the boys caused him to lose the lead pack after the stops were completed. Rory would continue on the pursue Jeffery from Team Shark for what they believed was the final podium spot. Melton could only watched them battle from a distance as he just knock out the laps hoping for a mistake.
Heading into the final lap GhostSpeed was sitting in 4th and 5th place respectively. Lucky thanks to a fuel load mistake from Sasa everyone moved up one position. No one had a thing for Evgeniy Mironenko as once again he walked away with the victory. Rory couldn’t make the move on Jeffery as the laps wound down as they had an epic, but clean battle to the end. Final results for GhostSpeed Racing were Rory King 3rd and Corey Melton 4th.
It was another great result for GS as once again we bring lots of points from the race. With two races down GhostSpeed is looking strong in both the Drivers and Team standings. Look for more great results in just 2 weeks time as the Sim-Challenge championship heads into round three at the Enna Pergusa circuit.
Cheers from everyone here at GhostSpeed Racing.
