More points again for GhostSpeed at FSR WC

After a satisfactory Canadian Round, where GhostSpeed Racing Team, scored one more points finish, the team headed to Indianapolis in hope to keep the momentum. Until the last moment, it was uncertain whether João Babrosa would return to the 14th GS powered car. That would soon be cleared, and the Portuguese based Team, would line up once more with the Flying Dutch, Stephane Rouault, and Australian driver Blair Disley. They would both show a good race pace.
 

In qualification, Blair Disley would get the upper hand inside the team, as Rouault didn’t choose the right strategy, something that in such a close session, proved to be fatal. Between him, at the 11th spot, and the pole man, there was only 0.668s. At this level, even small errors are costly, and GhostSpeed Racing Team is learning that at the hard way.

So it was 9th and 11th for the team, but the less good qualy strategy, proved to be better in race, as for the first time this season, both GhostSpeed drivers managed to challenge for the points.

Disley was on a one stop strategy, and managed to get at one time, to the third place, just a few seconds behind the leader. It was just momentarily, but good things take time to build, and step by (small) step, we’re getting there. It was the same for Rouault, that starting from 11th, was already into the points after the first lap. He stayed there comfortably, and it would be a technical error, with an engine stall at the second pit stop, to throw him out of there. He would eventually climb some more positions, but would go no further than the 12th place. Disley would have a happier ending, and got three more points to him, and GhostSpeed. The Australian driver keeps improving, since his debut for the Team, at this years Spanish GP.

Blair Disley (AUS) 6th, Race comments:

"Very blessed by God to finish in the points today. I think I was more on pace here than before though, which I thank Stephane for as he helped allot with setup. At the same time it is a shorter track so laptimes would be closer. I had a bad start but someone spun and I had to brake and lose more positions from memory, but I was still in clear air after Saxen went off and maybe a few others I cant remember exactly.

Very happy to have been up to third place at one stage, and to get more FSR WC points next to my name!"

Stephane Rouault (NL) 12th, race Comments:

"First the qualifying, I want to congratulate Blair my team-mate, with a really good qualify result. This time I tried something else in qualify, had enough fuel to do four consecutive fast laps, that way I made optimum use out of the laps give to me. Though, it didn’t really seem to help me, I was too slow because of the weight. I think next time I’ll just do the same as I always did. So I ended up P11, just 8 tenths behind the pole. Unbelievably close. But I knew my pace for the race would be more than ok. I made a really good start, went from P11 to P7 in lap 1. Just got really good off the line, and managed to stay out of trouble. I could follow the pace of Peccarelli, but had Schmalenbach behind me as well. I overtook Peccarelli in the pits, so I drove the whole race in top6/7, and everything was going well. Till the second pitstop, my engine stalled, and the pitcrew didn’t work on my car. Because of the delay I lost 7 positions, but managed to take back 2 places. So overall, I’m pretty pleased with the pace I showed, I could’ve been 6th/7th had I not stalled in the pits, which would’ve been good performance with 18 drivers finished. But next time, I hope I stay out of pit trouble, or other trouble for that matter. I congratulate Blair with the points scored for our team, well done mate!"
