After some time in Formula SimRacing courts, both Blair João were found guilty of some race incidents, which made them drop from 1st and 3rd, to 2nd and 6th. A harsh decision which led to an appeal from the team, so the truth could prevail.
Fornutely Blair was cleared from his charges, and the win was given back to him. The second one for him and the team, giving inside the team a sense fair justice. For João, he will have to settle for 6th, as he was still found guilty, even after an appeal. A decision which GhostSpeed still thinks is unfair.
With the drivers lead, and the 5th spot at the team’s championship, Nurburgring is now past, and Hungaroring is the only goal set for the ace drivers.
At the World Championship, the team was again more low profile, but keeps building point after point, a stable position in the league standings table.
Racing again with Blair Disley and Stephane Rouault, GhostSpeed placed himself at the middle table in qualification, with both drivers managing to be less than one second behind the pole man. Disley was 11th and Stephane, in his birthday, was 9th.
Although it was Rouault’s birthday, he would not have a happy ending, as he withdrawn from race at lap 23, when he was within point’s position. A bad day for the Dutch driver, but nevertheless, GhostSpeed still keeps, and will continue so, giving full confidence to him.
Disley had a better race, and with a solid race pace, he managed to get the upper hand on almost every situation he had upon him. Once again, with a very similar pace to Stephane, the young Australian driver was always inside points positions, and after some casualties in front of him, he finished 5th, which equals the team’s best result at the World Championship, at Bahrain, early this year.
GhostSpeed Racing Team is now 6th at the teams standings table, with equal differences for the teams in front, and the ones preceding. It will be a hard season ending, with an unpredictable result.
Blair Disley (AUS) 1st, WS race comments:
"Thanks for the congrats guys. When Dom spun he waited till it was clear before rejoining the track so it was very clean driving by him there. I know you said the Championship is mine but you've had computer problems and turned up late a few times which has helped me, and others too, score more points. Congrats Fred and João.”
João Barbosa (PT) 6th, WS Race comments:
"Another fantastic race with lots of fun. Starting qualify I was able to do P2, I wasn’t expecting but it was a good result. At the start I was able to defend my position and only lose one place to my team mate, Blair, but a few metres later me and Kag touch and I go down almost to last with my rear wing damaged. I knew I had another difficult race like in Silverstone, because overtaking is very difficult. I was able to pass some guys, but when I found gomez it turn out to be a difficult one. I was able to pass him three laps before my pit stop so I push to gain some time to Christian, and the same happens before my 2nd pit stop with Montanes. I could by a few metres be in front of Machiel when he was leaving the pits and after that it was just watch my back for him and Christian. One of the best races ever for me. Congratulation for Blair (there is no stopping you), and Carlos for his consistent race, and also Vitor for his great FSR debut."
Blair Disley (AUS) 5th, WC race comments:
"I noticed that most of the front guys had more downforce then me and I used a different setup for the race compared to Ace. De Witt confirmed this with his wings on the forum. The dirty air effect helped me to stay in front of De Witt when we battled. Blessed that some guys had problems and that moved me up some spots and am very happy to finish 5th in a WC race!”
Stephane Rouault (NL) dnf, WC race comments:
"A race to forget. After the start, when De Wit bumped into Trinka, I had to avoid the pileup, but I only just hit someone which damaged my car. I think this made my car undrivable, made 1 to many mistakes, and slid into the wall. So, overall, lets just forget this race for me, and celebrate how well Blair did. Congrats on his p5, well done mate!"
