After a solid first round, at the Sim-Challenge World Championship, GhostSpeed Racing Team returned to the league with a positive result on the 2nd round held at Hockenheim. The task wasn’t easy tough, as the team had a reduced line up at this German round of the championship. Wilfred and Mikko were the only racers at the GT1 class, as in the GT2 field, Strome had on his task list the effort of defending alone the team colours.
The first race would be as usual the GT1 race on Sunday, and the team showed it was capable of competing even above of what it has done in the first round. Wilfred vd Brink started well the whole race weekend process by qualifying himself at the top 5, while Mikko was just bellow top 10. Both would build up on their positions, and climb several positions. Wilfred would even challenge for some moments for the podium, but would latter settle for an excellent 4th place, showing is true pace. On the other side, Mikko also showed a big improvement and throughout the race we as a true top 10 challenger. The Finn would finish P8, not very far from the racers in front of him.
With this result GhostSpeed Racing Team got its better overall GT1 result, at the Sim-Challenge World Championship.
On the GT2 field and with the absence of both Aron Stanley and Richard Johansson, the team charge was just on Rickard Strome, who like the GT1 racers, showed a big improvement. Starting from only P15 on qualification, the Swedish driver would to a strong race and after even leading for a brief moment, he would end up on P6, giving the team a needed good result as he was the only racer on track.
Next race will be on Dubai, on the 13th and 14th of April, for the 3rd round o the World Championship.
