Months of waiting and preparations finally come to an end as GhostSpeed Racing Team presents its contender for the 2008 season at Formula SimRacing. The GS04 brings new belief in a season we expect to be full of successes, a year on international affirmation for GhostSpeed Racing Team. New cars, some new drivers and a renewed ambition will be the team's motto for the upcoming season.
The new car with a radical design from Pedro Rodrigues, also the Team
Manager and Co-Owner, will be driven by a total of nine drivers at the
several Formula SimRacing leagues and also at a national level.
Although there are some important changes, the 2008 season was build up on continuity, as it proves the renovation of the contract of several 2007 racers, such as Stephane Rouault, João Barbosa or Rickard Hellsten. On top of all this, and most importantly, the sign up of the Double World Champion, Bruno Marques, is a major step forward for the Team, and a guarantee of a boost in the team performance.
The second season at the Formula SimRacing World Championship will count this way with a mixture of continuity and new faces, even tough Bruno is already known in the team for some time now. Coming from a double World Championship, Bruno will, as his status requires, be chasing for an unprecedented 3rd consecutive title, as at his side, will be racing the Dutch driver Stephane Rouault, who in 2008 will want to rise up his game. With both, GhostSpeed Racing Team will also want to challenge for the Teams World Championship. The team recons though, that it has a gigantic task ahead in order to achieve that goal.
Upon all that, GhostSpeed ambition will not settle for the World Championship, and after the positive 2007 late season ending, at the World Series Ace, GhostSpeed Racing Team has its goals also set on both the drivers and teams championships at this category. And to reinforce the 2007 campaign, GhostSpeed will also fill up his sister team GS Racing, and will bring up onboard two new drivers from South America.
At the GhostSpeed Racing Team squad, the same 2007 season line up will be maintained. João Barbosa, from Portugal, and Rickard Hellsten from Sweden, will be one of the hot duos in the championship, as the team aims for the gold in the end. Both will also be the World Championship team reserve drivers.
Coming from South America, the team will count with Gabriel Montanes from Uruguay, and Mauricio Gomez from Colombia. Both are proven quality drivers at the World Series Ace, and will be a fundamental complement for the whole formation in the 2008 season.
To finish, but not least important, GhostSpeed Racing Team will also extend its participation to the World Series Pro series for the first time, where it will race with a sole driver. Having raced for the team at the Ace series in 2007, Emre Uysal, from Turkey, will be the team face at this Formula SimRacing Series.
Pedro Rodrigues, Team Manager and Co-Owner
"Finally the long period of preparations is coming to an end, with the beginning of the season reaching us. A lot of excitement anticipates this new season in the team, that sees this season as a sea of great opportunities, but also with the stronger competition ever presented in all the FSR history. But we are ready for it! We prepared a great car for this challenge and we will work as much as we can, as hard as we can, to keep the number 1 in our car. (Doesn’t it look beautiful in the 04? (smiles)) To finish, I want to wish good luck to all the FSR teams and that we see a lot of great races with a lot of fair and close racing."
Bruno Marques, WC #1
“This is my 3rd full season on Formula-SimRacing, and with just one week to go, I can't wait! Me and Stephane have been working hard to bring the best car possible to Melbourne so we hope for a good result. Talking about the car, I simply love it, it's another great paint by Pedro. This year will be even more difficult than last year, looking at every team line up. I hope I can repeat the World Championship or at least fight for it. We will see what happens but the team is going to do everything.”
Stephane Rouault, WC #2
“This year's car just looks awesome. Can't wait to give it a test drive. Pedro has done an amazing job. I'm really looking forward to the start of the season, I have the feeling this year will be great. I realise I've got an amazing opportunity this year, cause I can learn a lot from the maestro himself, Bruno Marques. Seeing him at work, really amazed me. I try to not pressure myself to much though. I haven't really set goals for myself this year, I will look at the first 3 races and then see what I can accomplish. My main objective is to help Bruno and the team to win both championships.”
João Barbosa, WS Ace #7
“One more year, and one more car, and Pedro surprised us all again. A very beautiful car and also very innovator. It will for sure mark a new milestone for the team in an international level. I believe that the new car will bring up allot of wins, because we have this year very fast driver with us. Thanks for Pedro again for its magnificent work.”
Rickard Hellsten, WS Ace #8
“This will be my first full season in FSR, Really looking forward to the season. I still feel pretty "Fresh" in F1 cars, So still allot to learn, And its a big plus to have Bruno in the team! My goal for this season is to finish Top3 in ACE. Also work hard with the Team. And with Joao Barbosa as my Team mate, really fight for the Team Champ! I will do my best during the season, to live up to mine and GhostSpeed goals.”
Gabriel Montanes, WS Ace #27
“In this my first season in Team, so I hope to give good results to achieve the goals we want. The Team keeps climbing every year, so all the drivers and team mates are the base I’ve been looking for to learn more and reach my personal goals too. I think this year is a very special year, and WS Ace will turn into a big challenge to be on top. As a driver I will have to double my efforts and without any doubts we will have a spectacular year.”
